Autumn Hunter

"This incredible knife was crafted from AUS6 Stainless and is a very large Skinner style blade. I crafted the handle from Cocobola and Puduk (which has a great Autumn harmony). The sheath is a wrapped piece of oil-tanned cowhide dyed to several layers of glazed colors which gives it brilliant depth. The leaf and acorns are a symol of Autumn and were all hand tooled using a couple of simple shapes which I pounded into the leather a little at a time to develop the image. This was my very first attempt at making a knife...and working with leather. The tassel is made of three seperate leather strands and is dyed to compliment the knife. The beads were turned with the same wood as the handle and crafted to symbolize acorns. Although you can't see it from this picture, the top of the blade was ground to symbolize Ivy in a wavy pattern and serves as a thumb rest when using the knife on tough jobs.
